If you are as excited for the party season as we are, one thing we don’t want to have to worry about 4 hours before a party is: “how should I wear my hair?” especially if you are in a rush. So we’ve cut through the time it takes for you to look for the latest hairstyles and hair accessories to wear at a party and listed some unique and easy ways to wear your hair to dress up your outfit.
Glitter me up Scotty
Glitter is one of the many things we associate with a sparkly Christmas or New Years party, it’s a no-brainer seasonal accessory! Glitter comes in an assortment of colours, shapes and sizes, and it can be worn in so many ways now that you will be sure to find a glitter style to suit you.
If you like big and bold, consider transforming the summertime glitter roots trend into a whimsical Christmassy one. Consider silver, gold, blue, green or red. For a subtler sparkle, you can give your hair a spritz or two of hair glitter all over. You could also buy or get arts and crafty and make your own glitter gel and concentrate the sparkle on a few strands of hair or the tips.
Although a fun option if you want to get your festivities on, it can be a pain to wash out glitter from your hair, so keep that in mind.
Big hair don’t care
You can never go wrong with big sexy hair no matter what the occasion. There is a variety of techniques you could try to bump up the volume like teasing/backcombing the hair or use an insert like a bumpit. Our personal favourite is the blow dry.
Headbands are back in Vogue
We’ve seen a range of stylish headbands make an appearance in the Autumn/Winter 2017 runways earlier this year, and we are welcoming it with open arms. For your next party try a glitzy, embellished headband – that’ll dazzle them. On the other hand, you could also opt for an understated thin, band in silver, gold or with a row of embellishments like pearls.
Hi-shine long ponies
The ponytail is a timeless go-to hairstyle worn by women of all ages. There are countless ways to style a pony, but a sleek high ponytail is our party hair updo choice for this season. This versatile style can be worn with many outfits, and its face accentuating quality enhances whatever makeup you decide to wear.
This style is ideal for those who have long hair, but for those who have shorter hair, you can always cheat your way with the help of hair extensions. Have some hair gel handy to help tame any flyaways or baby hairs.
Most of our suggestions require little to no effort, but if you have never attempted a style from our list – we recommend practising beforehand to save you from any pre-party frustrations. Hopefully, you will have found at least one winner from our ideas, but regardless of how you decide to wear your crown this party season- wear it with pride.
